In matters of the Way, those who haven’t grasped the true essence, or haven’t yet discovered the truth, will inevitably err in their arguments. Thus, while there is only one truth, each person, based on their own knowledge, tends to interpret the doctrine differently. This is why they stray from the true origin (the true source).
It’s like four lamps, all burning the same oil, all sharing the same light, yet casting some areas bright, some dim, some green, some red. This is because one lamp has a clear shade, another a cloudy one, another a green one, and yet another a red one.
The reasoning in this book “The Truth” is also like one of the four lamps in the above analogy. Whether it is clear or dim, green or red, it is left to the discerning eyes of the noble ones to judge.
Sincerely offering these words,
Though my arguments may seem trivial to some.
I briefly explain the Way of Heaven, relying on righteous principles,
Compiled into this book as a small piece of advice for the world.
