Every tree has its roots, every river its source, and the emergence of the Great Way has its origins. The Vietnamese people endured centuries of foreign domination under the Chinese and French. But all things have their limits. In 1954, after our people rose up against French rule, the French forces withdrew, returning our land and sovereignty, restoring our freedom of movement, association, and most importantly, freedom of belief.
The Third Great Universal Religious Amnesty was founded in Vietnam in 1926, at a time when our followers were still under the constraints of worldly powers. It wasn’t until 1956 that the Holy See signed an agreement with the Republic of Vietnam government, pledging to abstain from political involvement and gaining full rights to propagate the Way throughout Vietnam.
The Supreme Being wisely chose not to entrust the leadership of the faith to mortals, who are prone to errors and distortions. Instead, the Supreme Being Himself serves as the leader, using the miraculous mechanism of divine communication to disseminate the true teachings and laws. In the early days, the Supreme Being and the Divine Mother endured many hardships and employed various methods to gather those with spiritual roots to assist in spreading the Way. During this time, the esteemed Hương Hiếu, the Head Priestess, was blessed with numerous divine communications, receiving profound teachings and gaining deep spiritual insights. She diligently compiled this Religious History to preserve it for future generations.
Reading this Religious History, one feels as if transported through a vivid dream, witnessing the unfolding of the Way from its origins in Saigon to Gò Kén and finally to its central hub in Tây Ninh. No detail is omitted, providing invaluable resources for those seeking to understand our faith.
The Head Priestess’s dedication is immense. The current generation has the privilege of reading and gaining insights into the mysteries of the Way. To neglect this opportunity would be a great loss.
Thus spoken,
Holy See, November 29th, Đinh Mùi (December 30th, 1967)
